Lake Shikotsu Retreat Center

支笏湖ブルーに抱かれ、「再生」する。Held by Shikotsu blue, renewed.

この建物は、支笏湖の青く透明な水の質感からインスピレーションを得ています。外壁は湖底に広がる柱状節理の力強いリズムを、屋根は支笏湖ブルーの水盤がもたらす透明感をモチーフに設計しました。This building draws its inspiration from the clear blue texture of Lake Shikotsu's water. The outer walls echo the powerful rhythm of the columnar joints spreading across the lakebed, while the roof takes its motif from the transparency of a reflecting pool in Shikotsu blue.

訪れる人は、湖上に浮かぶような開放的なダイニングから、水盤の下を通り抜け、湖底を思わせるホールへと導かれていきます。滞在そのものが、ひとつの「再生」の体験になるよう意図しました。私たちがここで目指すのは、国立公園である支笏湖という唯一無二の舞台で、コヒーランス・フィールドを体感していただくことです。Visitors move from an open dining room that seems to float on the lake, pass beneath the water basin, and are drawn into a hall that evokes the lakebed itself. The stay in its entirety is intended to become a single experience of renewal. What we seek here is for you to feel the field of coherence on the singular stage of Lake Shikotsu, a national park.

再生と調和のための、ウェルビーイング・インフラ。Well-being infrastructure for renewal and harmony.

日本人は古来より、清らかな水辺で禊を行い、穢れを祓って新しく生まれ変わるという儀礼文化を育んできました。日本一の透明度を誇る湖と、国立公園として守られてきた原生林に囲まれた支笏湖は、現代における「心身の再生」の舞台として、他に類を見ない環境です。日常の喧騒から離れ、静かな自然の中で自らを見つめ直す「余白」を提供する──そんな社会的インフラとして、このセンターを構想しています。Since ancient times, the Japanese have nurtured a ritual culture of purification at clear waters, cleansing impurity to be born anew. Surrounded by the most transparent lake in Japan and by old-growth forest protected as a national park, Lake Shikotsu is an environment without equal as a stage for the renewal of body and mind in our time. We envision this center as a piece of social infrastructure that offers a margin of space, away from the noise of daily life, to look quietly at oneself within nature.

人間と自然の関係は、EGO（自我・支配）からECO（環境共生）へ、そしてSEVA（奉仕・つながり）へと向かうといわれています。個の再生が、他者や社会、自然との関係の再生へと広がっていく。支笏湖のリトリートセンターが、「心身の再生」から始まる「地球の再生」を示すモデルとなることを願っています。The relationship between humanity and nature is said to move from EGO (self and dominance) to ECO (living with the environment), and on to SEVA (service and connection). The renewal of the individual widens into the renewal of our relationships with others, with society, and with nature. Our aspiration is for the Shikotsu retreat center to become a model showing how the renewal of the Earth begins with the renewal of body and mind.

人と地球と呼応する建築。Architecture that resonates with people and the Earth.

心臓が生み出すトーラス状の電磁場を建築的に解釈し、コレクティブなエネルギーフィールドが形成されることを目指しました。本建築は16人程度が中期滞在できるリトリートセンターとして設計され、中心には掘り込み式の円形スペースを配置しています。We took the torus-shaped electromagnetic field generated by the heart and interpreted it architecturally, aiming to form a collective energy field. The building is designed as a retreat center for medium-term stays of around sixteen people, with a sunken circular space placed at its heart.

このスペースから、祈りや願いのエネルギーがトーラス状の流れを生み出し、人々のコヒーランスを高めるとともに、地球磁場とも呼応し、そこにいるだけで深いつながりを感じられる場となることを意図しています。From this space, the energy of prayer and longing gives rise to a torus-shaped flow that heightens the coherence of those present, resonates with the Earth's magnetic field, and is intended to become a place where simply being there lets you feel a deep connection.

物質的豊かさが充足した私たちにとって上質な場とはなんでしょう。そのヒントは、一万年以上の平和が続いたという、縄文文化にあるかもしれません。目指したのは、その場にいるだけで、自分と、他者と、自然と、地球と、宇宙と、深いところでつながり、「和」が自ずと生まれる装置としての建築。For us, whose material needs are met, what makes a place truly refined? A clue may lie in Jomon culture, said to have sustained more than ten thousand years of peace. What we sought was architecture that works as a device — a place where, simply by being there, you connect deeply with yourself, with others, with nature, with the Earth and with the universe, so that Wa, harmony, arises of its own accord.

大黒柱に支えられた茅葺屋根に抱かれて、重力に沿った水の流れを感じ、火の絶えない囲炉裏で友と語らう。JOMONは、いのちのつながりを思い出すヒーリングセンターであり、大切な人と共に過ごすだけで、心身が浄化され、関係性が深まっていくホットスポットです。Held beneath a thatched roof borne by a central pillar, you feel water flowing with gravity and talk with friends by a hearth whose fire never dies. JOMON is a healing center for remembering the connection of all life — a hotspot where simply spending time with those dear to you cleanses body and mind and deepens your bonds.
